Water cut in Jamnagar (Twice in week now)

Lack of adequate rain in Jamnagar led Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) to announce water cuts in the city.

While JMC was supplying water every alternate day, now the distribution will be just twice a week. JMC sites that the water level are drying up fast and the Narmada water is the only source for supplying drinking water.

JMC complains the in-adequate and irregular supply of Narmada water is adding more problems.

A JMC official quoted that of total requirement of 220 million litres per day (MLD) , 110 MLD water is the Narmada water (50%), But JMC currently receives only 10 MLD (9%) of Narmada water daily in Jamnagar.

With rest of the dams fast drying up in district, things will be difficult in coming days.
